Snowmobile Guide: Dan Eickmeier

Dan Eickmeier was born and raised on a family farm in Northwest Ohio. After college, he served in the U.S. Air Force as an acquisition officer for 21-years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He transitioned from the uniform to corporate program management and supported the Air Force 16 additional years.

Dan has enjoyed motorsports from a young age. He has ridden dirt, enduro, adventure and sport touring motorcycles, ATVs and side-by-sides. He was first introduced to snowmobiles by his father-in-law in the mid-1980s. He purchased his first snowmobile in 2016 after moving to upstate New York where he can ride NY trails from his back yard.

Dan's first trip with Bonvoyage was a Great Gaspe tour in 2019. He was hooked on Quebec trails and purchased a more modern trail sled when he got home. He has ridden with Bonvoyage each year since, including the 2021 trip in Maine during COVID. It was that trip Dan approached Gary about becoming a guide and started his certification and training process. Dan is certified as a Quebec Guide and in Wilderness First Aid and CPR/AED. He rides a 2022 Ski Doo Renegade XRS 900 Turbo R.

Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loves the outdoors, hiking, hunting, adventure motorcycling and volunteering with his local snowmobile club managing the trails.
